Chapter 2: The New Girl in Town
(by Marissa, added on 25 March 2014 09:20 AM)

I walked in to the diner, shaking my hair to rid it of the water.

"Is it always like this?" I said to my friend, Beth, who had agreed to come along with me.

"Most of the time, it's not that bad." Beth said. "But sometimes, it will just pour and pour."

"And today just had to be the day." I muttered. "Of all the days, today had to be it."

"O cheer up." Beth said. "It's not so bad, once you get use to it."

"Beth," I said. "I can't see. I could very easily not see something and just... fall. In the rain, it's even worse."

"I know." Beth said, solemnly. "Wait, you can't see anything at all?"

"Correct." I said. "I told you that already."

"I know." Beth said. "Just checking."

"Why?" I said, knowing it was a stupid question.

"Because," Beth said, suddenly breathless, "Edward Cullen just walked in."

"And Edward is..." I said.

"The handsomest guy in the world." Beth said. "O my God! He's coming over."

"Probably because there's no more tables left."

"Whatever." Beth said. "He's still coming."

I sighed and shook my head.

"Hello." a voice said from beside me and I jumped. "Sorry." he apologized. "Is it allright if my sister and I sit? There are no moore tables left."

"Told you." I said to Beth, before saying to the man, "Sure. Go ahead. What is your name?"

"My name," he said, "is Edward Cullen."
